Taxidermy began in the 19th century in England. An increase in demand for leather meant that turning animal skin into preserved leather became the norm.
Taxidermy is referred to as a scientific art of preserving an animal by stuffing and using mounting techniques for the purpose of display.
As Leon Pray once said, “taxidermy in these modern times, with borax mothproofing as its latest and greatest step forward, can be a fascinating hobby."
Taxidermy can certainly be a fascinating hobby, but more importantly, to remember what we do for so many valued clients across the globe, we immortalise their memories. We give them an incredible reminder of an experience in wildlife. These pieces are used as props in their storytelling to friends and family and help them to relive these incredible experiences in nature.

Fortunately, taxidermy has come a long way since the days of stuffing mounts with sawdust and rags. Our methodologies, the chemicals and processes have changed and improved dramatically. The improved methods in traditional skin mount, freeze-dried mount, reproduction mount and re-creation mount have allowed the lifespan of the trophies we produce to last ten times longer than ever before.
